When Jacoby Ellsbury strides to the plate nowadays, he's beginning to hear a solid amount of MVP chants. His performance against the Yankees on Wednesday night showed exactly why that's the case.

The Sox center fielder finished 2-for-5, but it was his sixth-inning home run that broke a 5-5 tie. The Yankees brought in lefty reliever Boone Logan, who has recorded some big strikeouts against the Sox this season, and Ellsbury greeted him with a blast into the Monster seats in left.

It was the 24th home run of the season  for Ellsbury and it came at a huge time, as the Sox went on to finish off a 9-5 win and force a rubber match in Thursday's series finale.

Ellsbury said that the Sox love when the fans are into it, which has certainly been the case this series against the Yankees.
