Raul Meireles may be on his way out at Anfield.
Liverpool announced on the club's official website that the Portuguese midfielder has submitted a written transfer request shortly before the closing of the Wednesday night transfer window.
Reports surfaced on Tuesday that Chelsea was trying to arrange a deal with LFC, but no deal had come to fruition.
Meireles came to Anfield last August and contributed with five goals in Premier League action. He has, however, seen limited playing time as of late and recently injured his collarbone in a Carling Cup match with Exeter City.
