The Patriots had a bumpy flight back to New England after Saturday's loss in Detroit, and Hurricane Irene has caused many on the team to lose power Sunday.
Wide receiver Jeremy Ross tweeted around 3 a.m. that the turbulence on the flight "was no joke," and cornerback Kyle Arrington, safety Sergio Brown, cornerback Darius Butler, safety Patrick Chung, cornerback Devin McCourty, wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and safety Brandon Meriweather all tweeted that they were thankful they made it back safely.
The Patriots' official Twitter account announced the team buses arrived at Gillette Stadium a little after 4 a.m.
That joy was replaced by the reality check that many lost power when they woke up Sunday. Tight end Rob Gronkowski, wide receiver Julian Edelman, cornerback Leigh Bodden, Butler, Brown and McCourty all tweeted that they've lost power.
Due to the unpredictability of how Irene could damage the area, the Patriots also canceled Bill Belichick's conference call with the media, which was scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday.
Bodden decided to make a positive out of it, announcing that he'd be hosting a Monopoly party and a movie night in his truck.
Brown, whose hotel lost power, has been tweeting a stream of photos of the damage.
