Raul Meireles Leaving Liverpool for Chelsea After Two Sides Come to Terms on Transfer Fee

Rumors recently surfaced that Liverpool and Chelsea were working on a deal for Raul Meireles. Then, speculation grew on Wednesday night as the team announced that Meireles submitted a transfer request. It's now starting to look like a deal will get done.

LFC announced on Wednesday night that they have agreed on a fee with Chelsea for the Portuguese midfielder. Chelsea announced on its website that they had acquired the 28-year-old Meireles, and he has a signed a four-year deal to play at Stamford Bridge.

Initial reports on Tuesday said that the two sides weren't able to come to terms on a deal, but a transfer seemed to come together quickly after it was announced Meireles had requested a transfer.

Full details of the transfer have yet to be disclosed.
