Recently Promoted Will Middlebrooks Bats Fifth As Pawtucket Takes on Syracuse at Fenway

Will Middlebrooks was just called up from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Pawtucket, and the third baseman will be batting fifth for the PawSox on Saturday.

Ryan Kalish and Daniel Nava, players who have spent time with Boston in the past, will be taking the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively, while first baseman Lars Anderson will be batting cleanup.

Nava, Pawtucket's designated hitter, is batting .264 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs.

Taking the mound for Pawtucket is Kyle Weiland. He's 8-8 with a 3.40 ERA this season and has compiled a 3.07 ERA in his last 14 starts with Pawtucket.

Brad Meyers, who is 4-4 with a 3.79 ERA, will be on the mound for Syracuse.

Steve Lombardozzi, who is leading off for the Chiefs, leads the team with a .325 batting average.

Right fielder Jesus Valdez will be batting cleanup, and Jhonatan Solano will be batting fifth and catching.
