In 1999, the Red Sox fell behind the Cleveland Indians 2-0 in the ALDS. But after blowout victories in Games 3 and 4, the team looked poised to punch its ticket to the ALCS for a showdown with the Yankees.

In Game 5 of the divisional series, Pedro Martinez came out of the bullpen to shut the door and advance Boston to the next round.
