Ron Artest, Hope Solo Join ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Cast for Upcoming Season

Since the inception of Dancing With the Stars on ABC, athletes have generally made the best competitors. This season might be a little different.

Ron Artest (not quite yet Metta World Peace) will be joining the cast, bringing his patented craziness to the dance floor.

The 6-foot-7, 260-pound Artest will be the biggest contestant on the show, and as anyone who's seen him try to dribble can attest to, he's not always the most fluid mover, to put it nicely.

Artest won't be the only representative of the sports world, as U.S. women's soccer goalie Hope Solo will participate as well. You have to wonder if she called Brianna Scurry to share the news.

Rounding out the cast are "fashion guru" Carson Kressley, Chaz Bono, Chynna Phillips from Wilson Phillips, actor David Arquette, model Elisabetta Canalis, war hero J.R. Martinez, reality star Kristin Cavallari, former talk show host Ricki Lake, reality tagalong Rob Kardashian and TV host Nancy Grace.

Video of the day

This video was amazing in its own right. The British accents of the announcers only serve to amplify that fact tenfold.

Put that in the repeat! Put it in now! Fannnntastic!
