Stanley Cup Falls From Table During Day With Michael Ryder Michael Ryder was a key contributor to the Stanley Cup-winning Bruins, scoring eight goals and adding nine assists in 25 games as the B's marched through Montreal, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Vancouver.

That performance made the veteran winger a hot commodity on the free-agent market, and he capitalized by signing a deal with the Dallas Stars. While Ryder certainly deserved to take advantage of that situation, he may have upset the hockey gods.

Ryder had his day with the Stanley Cup on Tuesday, and one of his first stops was a hotel in Bonavista, Newfoundland. Upon arrival, Ryder placed the 118-year-old Cup on a table, but just seconds later, the Cup tumbled to the ground.

"First dent of the day," a bystander nonchalantly said.

Check out the video from The Telegram below, where you'll notice both a faulty table leg and a strong breeze that both could be to blame for the fall.
