There's already a weather-worn statue of Red Sox great Ted Williams stationed outside of Fenway Park, but for the remainder of the 2011 baseball season, Teddy Ballgame will have another honor — an exhibit in The Sports Museum at the TD Garden.
The exhibit, which opened on Monday, will have Williams' actual locker on display and two of Williams' bats. One bat is from the 1941 All-Star game, while the other is the one Williams used in the 1941 season — the year he batted .406.
Displays will also focus on Williams as a person and not just a ballplayer. Williams lost a few years of his career when he became a pilot and fought in World War II.
The exhibit will be on display until the 2011 baseball season concludes.
