Terry Francona Voted Second-Most Popular Manager by MLB Players

Although Joe Maddon is likely going to miss out on the postseason this year, he’ll still have one thing on Terry Francona: he’s more popular, according to MLB players.

According to Sports Illustrated, the players voted Tampa Bay’s skipper as the most popular manager in the game, just ahead of Tito. Trailing Francona are Detroit’s Jim Leyland (third), Anaheim’s Mike Scioscia (fourth), Chicago’s Ozzie Guillen (sixth) and New York’s Joe Girardi (seventh).
