Albert Haynesworth Makes Patriots Debut, Nate Solder to Start at Right Tackle

FOXBORO, Mass. — Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth will make his much-anticipated preseason debut for the Patriots against the Giants on Thursday night.

Haynesworth, defensive lineman Shaun Ellis, running back Shane Vereen and cornerback Ras-I Dowling are all in uniform for the first time since joining the team. Wes Welker is also in uniform after suffering a neck injury against the Lions.

Quarterback Tom Brady and the starters will play, too.

There were 17 Patriots who weren't in uniform, including wide receiver Julian Edelman, wide receiver Taylor Price, running back Stevan Ridley, cornerback Leigh Bodden, running back Kevin Faulk, running back Eric Kettani, linebacker Jeff Tarpinian, linebacker Dane Fletcher, linebacker Brandon Spikes, offensive lineman Marcus Cannon, offensive lineman Ryan Wendell, offensive lineman Dan Connolly, defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick, tackle Sebastian Vollmer, defensive end Mark Anderson, linebacker Jermaine Cunningham and defensive lineman Ron Brace.

With Connolly and Vollmer out of the lineup, Rich Ohrnberger will start at right guard and Nate Solder will start at right tackle.
