Brad Marchand exceeded the expectations of most in his rookie season, and now he's reaping the benefits, sigining a two-year deal worth $5 million with the Bruins on Wednesday.

There might not have been much doubt from either side that a deal was going to get done, but to finally know Marchand will be in a Bruins uniform for the start of training camp and the start of the team's Stanley Cup defense is certainly reassuring to most Bruins fans.

Marchand worked his way up from a fourth-line player to a key offensive component last season, and he'll look to build on that success during the 2011-12 season.
