Bud Selig Praises Red Sox, Community for Work Done With Jimmy Fund


It's not uncommon these days to find professional teams that have very close connections with charities. That idea, however, is nothing new to those who grew up in and around Boston or grew up following the Red Sox.

The Sox' relationship with the Jimmy Fund is a well-known connection. Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig took the time to call in to the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon on Wednesday, and he recalled how incredible the relationship between the Sox and the Jimmy Fund is. Selig also said that the work the two have done paved the way for similar charitable connections across sports.
