Jacoby Ellsbury Wins NESN Nation’s ‘MVP’ Player of Game Award, But Red Sox Must Make Rare Win Count

Well, if that doesn't fit your definition of an MVP-caliber performance, then we don't know what will.

Jacoby Ellsbury was absolutely sensational all day and blasted three home runs in Sunday's doubleheader, including the game-winner in the second game, a legendary, extra-inning nightcap.

Now, the Red Sox head to Baltimore up one game in the playoff race — which seems like an enormous lead, all things considered.

The important thing to remember here for NESN Nation's Dan Duquette is that this one, important, mentally exhausting win doesn't wrap things up for the season. The Rays are still out there, and if this win is going to mean anything, the team has to take care of business in Baltimore.

But for now, Ellsbury wins NESN Nation's "MVP" player of the game. Is he your MVP for the nightcap? Vote in the poll below.

Who is your "MVP" player of the game?
