Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia left Monday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles in the eighth inning after being struck in the right-shoulder area with a foul tip off the bat of Adam Jones.

Jones fouled off Kyle Weiland's 1-1 offering, which struck Saltalamacchia, sending him curling over in pain behind the plate. After a few moments on the ground, he left the game under his own power alongside the team's trainer.

Saltalamacchia was replaced by Ryan Lavarnway.
