Kevin Youkilis has remained in Boston and will be re-evaluated when the Red Sox return home, Terry Francona told reporters on Saturday.

Youkilis was diagnosed Friday with bursitis in his left hip. He was given an anti-inflammatory injection and was considering a return to the team in Tampa. With just two games remaining before the end of the road trip, the club has scrapped that plan and will hope that its star third baseman feels better by Tuesday when Boston opens a 10-game homestand.

In other injury news, Josh Beckett played catch Saturday in the outfield at Tropicana Field and is hoping to miss just one start.
