FOXBORO, Mass. — Cornerback Leigh Bodden's right thumb is still in a hard cast, but it hasn't prevented him from practicing this week and he's got no reservations about his status for Monday night's season opener against the Dolphins.

Bodden said he's all in.

"I'm feeling good," Bodden said. "I'm ready for the opener. It's been a long time since I've played a game. I'm looking forward to being out there with the team, competing and making some plays for the team."

Bodden was injured Aug. 18 against the Buccaneers and didn't return to practice until Monday. It was only a minor setback for the corner whose 2010 season was washed out with a shoulder injury.

Bodden, who will likely start across from Devin McCourty, said he won't suffer from any nerves after the long layoff, but he's definitely excited to get back into regular-season action.

"Every opener is exciting," Bodden said. "That's every year. I'll definitely have excitement just like everyone else for the season opener."
