Liverpool will get its chance to avenge the 1-0 English Premier League defeat it suffered at Stoke City on Sept. 10, when the two teams square off in the Carling Cup round of 16 at Stoke's Brittania Stadium.

No date has been set for the game, but the cup ties take place the week of Oct. 24. Liverpool and Stoke will most likely play on Tuesday or Wednesday of that week.

Nov. 29, 2000, was the last time the two teams met in this competition. Liverpool cruised to an 8-0 victory. It was also the last time Liverpool won at the Brittania Stadium.

A repeat showing is not likely, as manager Tony Pulis has fashioned Stoke into a formidable unit. It is in seventh place in the EPL after six EPL games. They held champions Manchester United to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

This season's loss at Stoke stung the Reds since they dominated play and created a number of scoring chances.

Here is the full draw for the last-16 of Carling Cup:

Stoke City vs Liverpool
Wolves vs Manchester City
Blackburn vs Newcastle
Arsenal vs Bolton
Aldershot vs Manchester United
Crystal Palace vs Southampton
Everton vs Chelsea
Cardiff City vs Burnley
