New signing Jose Enrique has enjoyed a fine start to his Liverpool career, drawing plaudits from fans and pundits alike after instantly solidifying a left back position that had dogged the Reds ever since the departure of John Arne Riise in 2008.

Now, Liverpool's young left back Jack Robinson has joined the chorus of praise for Enrique, citing how serving as an apprentice to the former Newcastle man can only benefit his future.

Talking to LFC magazine, Robinson said, "Jose is someone I have watched over the last few years and someone who will be a good player for us.

"He's got everything for a left back, both defensively and going forward. I was made up when we signed him because I realize that he is eight or nine years older than me.

"I can learn a lot from him because he is good at the things I need to improve on; getting a bit tighter to the players I'm marking; stopping crosses going into the box and going forward; dribbling with the ball; being dynamic."

Robinson impressed many supporters with an excellent performance against Theo Walcott at the Emirates toward the end of last season and finds himself on the fringe of the first team in the current campaign.

Fabio Aurelio's constant injuries leave Robinson as Enrique's backup, and the promising Englishman could earn a start in Wednesday's Carling Cup match against Brighton and Hove Albion.
