FOXBORO, Mass. — Right tackle Sebastian Vollmer missed his third consecutive practice Thursday, and it’s the second day in a row when he’s been the Patriots’ lone absentee.

The Patriots practiced in pads inside Gillette Stadium for the second consecutive day. Under the rules of the new collective-bargaining agreement, teams are allowed to practice twice in pads in one of the first 11 weeks of the regular season.

Teams are limited to 11 padded practices in the first 11 weeks of the regular season. If the Patriots don’t practice in pads during their bye week, they’ll still be able to practice once in pads per game week through Week 11.

Teams can only hold three total padded practices from Weeks 12-17, and then once per week in the postseason.
