FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots got reacquainted with one of their 2010 draft picks Monday while filling out their practice squad.

Thomas Welch — a 6-foot-7, 310-pound tackle — was a seventh-round pick last year but got released after training camp and chose to sign with the Vikings' practice squad. He was cut by Minnesota on Saturday.

The Patriots also signed linebacker Markell Carter, running back Eric Kettani, offensive lineman Matt Kopa, defensive end Aaron Lavarias, offensive lineman Nick McDonald, wide receiver Kerry Taylor and safety Ross Venrone to the practice squad.

Carter, Kettani, Lavarias and Ventrone were all with the Patriots during training camp.
