The Texas Rangers took two of three from the Red Sox at Fenway this weekend (two in a blowout), which is a bit alarming considering the two teams could face off in the ALDS.

While the Sox were able to put up 12 runs in the second game of the series, there were times when the Rangers pitching staff looked better than previously advertised. NESN's Peter Gammons thinks the Rangers pitching staff, led by C.J. Wilson and Colby Lewis, doesn't get enough credit for how good it actually is. The Rangers actually have more quality starts, a lower ERA and more innings than the Sox staff this season.

Gammons thinks it's important that John Lackey return to his former self, which included a solid sinker, for the Sox' rotation to improve.
