Peyton Manning Unlikely to Come Back Until 2012, Colts Owner Jim Irsay Says Peyton Manning may practice in December but it's doubtful he will play this season, Colts owner Jim Irsay said Monday, according to reports.

Irsay told an audience at the Donor Kickoff to the Super Bowl meeting Monday morning not to expect Manning back until 2012, the Indianapolis Star reports. Manning is recovering from his third neck surgery in a two-year span.

After several news reports Monday morning implied Manning was officially done for the 2011 season, Irsay clarified his comments via Twitter.

"I didn't say Peyton out 4season FOR SURE," Irsay tweeted, "keeping him on ActiveRoster n taking it month by month/Outside chance of return n December possible."

The Colts are 0-3 after Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. They are 27th in the NFL in passing with Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter under center.
