FOXBORO, Mass. — Rookie cornerback Ras-I Dowling missed his first practice of the regular season Friday due to a presumed hip injury that limited him during the previous two sessions.

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth missed his second straight session, and tight end Aaron Hernandez, tackle Sebastian Vollmer and defensive lineman Mike Wright did not practice all week.

Dowling injured his hip in Week 2 against the Chargers and did not play against the Bills, though he was a game-time decision.

Haynesworth, Hernandez and Vollmer had travel bags in front of their lockers Friday, but they were empty. The Patriots' healthy players had already begun packing their bags during the media's locker room access, which was held prior to practice. The Patriots will depart for Oakland on Friday afternoon.

The Patriots' 14th practice of the regular season, not including walkthroughs, was held in shorts and shells for the 11th time.
