Rarely do Sox fans need a reason to show off their love for their ballclub, but Sunday's 'Signs of Fenway' contest elevated a Fenway tradition to a whole new level.
Signs are commonly seen throughout Fenway, and they very often vary in terms of content. There's the "K" signs that fans hold up to indicate a Boston pitcher has recorded a strikeout, there's signs that proudly display someone's first game and, of course, there's usually a good amount of signs that relay messages to family members, friends and even NESN's Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy.
Sunday, however, represented a day that will go down in sign-holding lore.
As usual, Don and Jerry were the subjects of plenty of the innovative signs around Fenway on Sunday, which made for a good time for all those involved. But there were also some that touched on a variety of other subjects.
