Report: Aaron Hernandez Out 1-2 Weeks With Sprained MCL The Patriots' offense was dominant yet again on Sunday, but the unit could be forced to work shorthanded for the next couple of weeks.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez suffered a sprained MCL during Sunday's win over the Chargers and will miss one to two weeks, according to The Boston Globe's Shalise Manza Young.

Hernandez, still just 21 years old, has caught seven passes in each of the Patriots' first two games. His 165 receiving yards have him ranked fourth on the team, while his two touchdown receptions trail only fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has three. Hernandez caught 45 passes for 563 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games last year before missing the final two games of the regular season with a hip injury. He returned for the playoffs but was a non-factor, catching just one pass for 4 yards.

Hernandez's absence next week against Buffalo and perhaps the following week against Oakland could provide an opportunity for Chad Ochocinco to become a bigger part of the passing attack, which currently leads the NFL with 926 yards in two games.
