Rob Gronkowski Excited to Welcome His Brother Dan to Patriots, Headlocks Running Rampant in Locker Room FOXBORO, Mass. — Apparently, the headlocks have already begun in the Patriots’ locker room, which has been overrun by Gronkowskis.

Tight end Dan Gronkowski — Rob’s older brother — was officially signed Wednesday. Dan didn’t speak with the media, but Rob shared his enthusiasm about the roster transaction.

“You get excited,” Rob Gronkowski said. “It’s a family member. I’m grateful to have brothers in the league, but then when it comes down to it, you get a brother on the same team, it’s awesome. It was already a dream come true that he was in the NFL at the same time, but having him on your team, it’s awesome to have someone there. A lot more support, a lot more intensity that we can bring out in each other because we know each other like that. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Quarterback Tom Brady laughed about the fact that he’s already seen the Gronkowski brothers wrestle around in the locker room, and head coach Bill Belichick found humor while thinking of the potential conversations that will now take place in the tight end meeting room.

Rob Gronkowski said it will be fun to get to spend more time with his brother, who will move into his house for the time being, but the business side will ultimately take over.

“He’s a hard worker,” Rob Gronkowski said. “Wherever he is, he’s just always working hard in the weight room, on the field, off the field studying. Coming in here, I know he’s going to be a hard worker, trying to get down all the plays right away and focus on his job.”
