FOXBORO, Mass. — Right tackle Sebastian Vollmer returned to practice Wednesday after missing more than a week with a back injury, and the Patriots conducted their first session without center Dan Koppen, who broke his ankle Monday against the Dolphins.

Cornerback Leigh Bodden and defensive lineman Mike Wright were also missing from Wednesday's session, which was held in shorts and shells. Wright received medical attention in the first half of the regular-season opener.

Defensive linemen Albert Haynesworth (illness) and Myron Pryor (groin) also returned to practice after missing Saturday's session.
