Should Pitchers Win Baseball's MVP Award? It’s an argument that’s gone on for decades, and it’s one that’s incredibly appropriate right now: Should pitchers be considered for baseball’s MVP award?

The conversation generally starts with one person relaying statistics that say how dominant and impressive a pitcher is. The other person then says that the pitcher, regardless of his dominance, only plays once every five days and that there is an award for the best pitcher and it’s called the Cy Young. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, with no real solution.

There might never be an answer, but with Justin Verlander a top candidate for the award this season, it will be a discussion over the next month or so.
