Patriots cornerback Kyle Arrington only suffered a minor injury during Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants, and he will be ready to play in the season opener against the Dolphins on Sept. 12, according to a source.

Arrington pulled a muscle in the first quarter and was taken from the game for precautionary reasons. The Patriots announced that he had a hip injury.

Arrington started camp as the third cornerback on the depth chart, but he has been the starter since Leigh Bodden suffered an unknown injury. Arrington will be used in a variety of roles, both inside and outside on defense, as well as one of the Patriots' most integral players on special teams.

Therefore, the Patriots will breathe a sigh of relief that his injury was minor.
