The last time Terrell Owens caught a pass was Week 14 of last season. It was his only reception of the game as his Bengals were downed by the Steelers 23-7. He was signed for one year in Cincinnati and remains unsigned two weeks into this season. So what is T.O. up to in his time off?
On Sunday, he put on his blue-suede shoes and boarded a plane headed for Korea. Tearing his ACL in June, T.O.'s treatment of choice has been stem cell therapy, according to The Korea Times. On Tuesday, stem cells will be collected and he will begin a regimented therapy process for his knee. Opting for stem cell therapy may seem a little ridiculous compared to minor surgery in which he could be in and out of a hospital in one day, but we all know that Owens has somewhat of a taste for the theatrical.
Oddly enough, another big name player signed up for a similar procedure, as Peyton Manning reportedly underwent stem cell therapy before his most recent of three neck surgeries.
Does this have potential to become a trend among professional athletes? Owens' doctor remains hopeful.
"I very much welcome Mr. Owens' visit to Korea, as such a big sports figure will help attract other world-class athletes," said Dr. Lee Jung-No of the Chaum Anti-Aging Center of Korea.
Owens is a 15-year veteran and six-time Pro Bowler, and has amassed 15,394 career receiving yards.
