Tim Wakefield Says Win No. 200 ‘Worth the Wait,’ Grateful for Accomplishing Feat in Front of Fenway Faithful


It took eight tries, but Tim Wakefield finally picked up his 200th career victory.

Following the game, Wakefield received a standing ovation from the sold-out Fenway crowd and tipped his cap as he's done so many times throughout his career.

Wakefield said that he's grateful to have accomplished the feat in front of the Fenway Faithful. He also said he never imagined he would accomplish the feat when he began his career.
