Boston College's season opener didn't go quite as planned, as Northwestern was able to squeak out a win over the Eagles at Alumni Stadium.

Tune in to NESN at 6 p.m. on Monday to see a replay of the nail-biter at Chestnut Hill.

Northwestern's backup quarterback Kain Colter proved to be too much for B.C., throwing for 197 yards and rushing for 71 more. Running back Andre Williams also helped spearhead Northwestern's rushing attack, compiling 114 yards on 22 carries.

The game remained close throughout, with the Eagles even making a push to tie the score in the final minute, but Northwestern was eventually able to hang on.
