The Revolution were in line for a victory to close out its 2011 season at BMO Field in Toronto before Danny Koevermans knotted the game up at 2-2 in the 83rd minute. The score would stay that way.
The win would have given the Revs their first MLS win since Sept. 10 if the Toronto FC striker didn't net his eighth goal of the year.
New England finishes the season at 5-16-13 with a goal differential of minus-20, its worst finish since 2001.
The first goal for Toronto came off the foot of Nick Soolsma, who opened the game's scoring. The Revolution's goals were scored by Monsef Zerka and Milton Caraglio, both helped by assists from midfielder Benny Feilhaber.
The draw snaps New England's five-game losing streak, but leaves them in last place in the Eastern Conference this season.
