Bill Belichick Sends ‘Great Wishes’ to Bruins for 2011-12 Season

FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots head coach Bill Belichick took a moment during Monday's news conference to acknowledge the Bruins for their part in Sunday's pregame ceremony.

The Bruins carried the Stanley Cup to midfield prior to New England's victory against the Jets, and Zdeno Chara also carried it out to the coin toss, which the Patriots won. After taking part in the festivities with their black-and-gold home sweaters, the Bruins removed their jerseys to show personalized Patriots home jerseys.

"It was great to see the Bruins out there," Belichick said. "They had an awesome season, obviously. It was a lot of fun to go to a couple of their games last spring, and I know they've got it cranked up again already. It was great for them to be there with us. A lot of guys came up and personally gave their support to myself and the team, and vice versa. So, a great shout-out to them and what they did last year. Great wishes for the start of this season. It was good to have them there."
