Bruins Honored as 'Best Sports Team Ever' by Harvard LampoonApparently a summer full of parades and duck boats wasn't enough for the Bruins.

The Harvard Lampoon held a ceremony this past Sunday in Cambridge, awarding them with a trophy for being the "best sports team ever."

Where was this celebration for the Red Sox in 2004? Well, that's beside the point.

Andrew Ference, Shawn Thornton, Milan Lucic, Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand and Johnny Boychuk represented the B's as they received — yet another — trophy.

To the surprise of many, Seguin and Marchand were actually wearing t-shirts. Seguin even wore a red Harvard T-shirt and joked with the fans in attendance, telling them that he was going to retire from the NHL and enroll in Harvard University to study French romantic poetry. That's exactly what the ladies needed to hear.

Apparently the whole festival seemed to be a joke as Marchand and Boychuck "read from each other’s diaries," and Ference read a "letter from Zdeno Chara" to the fans which referred to them as "tiny subjects."

Even Cambridge mayor David P. Maher joined in, referring to the B's as the "Cambridge Bruins."

This whole celebration would have been fine if it was four months ago, but five games into the season is not the right time to be celebrating a Stanley Cup Championship victory; especially not the way the Bruins are playing.

But hey, the smartest kids in the nation know best, right?
