The Bruins announced the release of forwards Lane MacDermaid and Max Sauve from the training camp roster Sunday. The two players will be assigned to Providence.

This will be MacDermaid's third season in Providence. In 78 games last year, he scored seven goals and had 12 assists. Sauve will start his second full season in the AHL. He played in 61 games a season ago, scoring 21 goals along with 17 assists.

With the moves, the Bruins' roster is down to 25 players. After concluding its preseason schedule last night in Bridgeport, Conn., the team is currently headed to an undisclosed location for a team-building activity.

The Bruins open up their regular season on Thursday, when they will raise a championship banner in front of the Philadelphia Flyers.
