Capitals Encourage Flyers, Rangers to Play Practical Jokes, Be ‘Savvy’ About Swearing in HBO 24/7 (Video)

Last year, HBO pulled back the curtain on the NHL while following around the Penguins and Capitals as the two teams prepared to meet in the 2011 Winter Classic. This time around, the Flyers and Rangers will have a chance to learn from those teams' mistakes to put on their own show.

Yahoo's Puck Daddy tracked down some members of last year's Capitals team to solicit advice for the teams to be featured on 24/7 this season, and the Caps had plenty of tips for this year's teams.

Karl Alzner, a Capitals defenseman, encouraged the teams to play more practical jokes on each other. One of the highlights in last year's 24/7 was when the Pittsburgh Penguins veterans moved all of the furniture out of Mark Letestu and Ben Lovejoy's hotel room into the hallway while the two young players were out at dinner.

Another piece of advice for the Flyers and Rangers? Watch your language.

Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau, among others, was asked if Rangers coach John Tortorella could out-swear him. Boudreau gained some notoriety with a profanity-laced intermission speech, so he now expects Tortorella to have learned from watching him and be a little more "savvy" about his language on-camera.

The HBO series is set to debut on Dec. 14, but until then, check out the video from Puck Daddy below.
