Carey Price to Stop Wearing Breast Cancer Awareness-Themed Pink Goalie Pads After Winless Start

Carey Price cares about raising awareness about breast cancer research. We won't fault him on that.

But do you know what's more important than raising breast cancer awareness? Winning hockey games, apparently.

Price had planned to wear a pink-themed goalie mask and pads throughout the month of October as part of Hockey Fights Cancer campaign, but the Canadiens goalie reconsidered after going 0-3-2 in the five games he wore them.

"I'm a loss away from wearing a garter belt," Price admitted, alluding to the classic superstition Tim Robbins' character follows in Bull Durham.

"I'd like things to go a little bit better, but I can't dwell on it now," he told NHL.com. "All it takes is a couple of wins to get things rolling in the right direction."

Now, Price is sure to still raise a lot of money and awareness for a worthy cause when he auctions off his gear at the end of the month. But come on, Carey. Are you that superstitious that you couldn't tough it out a few more games?
