The Bruins may have a two-time Vezina Trophy winner and a playoff hero as their starting goaltender, but they also have a backup who would start on most other NHL teams.
Tim Thomas has started the Bruins' first two games of the 2011-12 season, but head coach Claude Julien has already admitted that Tuukka Rask will see a heavier work load this season as the B's try to keep the 37-year-old Thomas fresh.
Julien said he's seen a better Rask heading into this season, and he considers both him and Thomas to be No. 1 goaltenders.
Rask said that he's just practicing hard, and that he's ready and anxious to get into the rhythm of playing some games.
