Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham said he is "flattered" by the interest shown in him by French side Paris Saint-Germain.

With his Major League Soccer contract expiring at the end of the season, Beckham has generated interest across Europe, and the cash flush Parisian club is heading the queue of suitors.

After being taken over by Qatar Investment Authority, the investment branch of the Qatari government, PSG appointed former Milan and Inter manager Leonardo as director of football. Utilizing the club's wealth, ambition and location, the affable Leonardo conducted a massive summer spending spree, acquiring players such as Javier Pastore, Blaise Matuidi, Kevin Gameiro and Jeremy Menez among others.

Last month, Leonardo acknowledged that the club was looking into acquiring Beckham on a free transfer, and now the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder has acknowledged that he may be interested in the move.

"I love Leonardo. I had a good relationship when I was at Milan the first time and then obviously when he was manager the second time," Beckham said. "He's a great manager, a great person. I'm flattered that he wants me to go and join the team in Paris.

"I think there are big things happening in France at a number of clubs. It's an exciting time. Leonardo going there and the money that's at the club. It's an interesting club.

"We'll see. I've always said I'll wait till the end of the season and see how I feel physically and then decide. There's no rush for myself," Beckham continued. "Obviously it's important that I concentrate on the rest of the season. We're in the playoffs and we've got two games left. I'll concentrate on the season and then worry about that after."

Beckham joined the Galaxy in 2007 from Spanish giant Real Madrid, and while his time in the U.S. has been commercially successful for both himself and the Galaxy, the club has had mixed results on the pitch.

Furthermore, Beckham has been questioned by American soccer fans for a perceived lack of commitment to his MLS duties, as he pushed through loans to A.C. Milan in 2009 and 2010 hoping to make England's 2010 World Cup roster. In a nightmare scenario, Beckham tore his Achilles' tendon while with Milan in 2010, causing him to miss the World Cup and the majority of the Galaxy's season.

The 2011 season has been Beckham's most successful to date, with the Galaxy looking like strong MLS playoff contenders and their highest-paid player playing an integral role in the club's success.
