David Ortiz Says 'There's Too Much Drama' With Red Sox, Talks About Idea of Joining YankeesDavid Ortiz is unhappy with the drama that is coming with the Red Sox right now. He’s so annoyed, in fact, that he’s talking about potentially moving on from the team that he became a star with.

Ortiz spoke with ESPN’s Colleen Dominguez, and the slugger didn’t shy away when giving his opinion on what has been going on in Boston in the last few weeks.

“There’s too much drama,” he told her. “I have been thinking about a lot of things. I don’t know if I want to be part of this drama for next year.”

Of course, it didn’t end there. Ortiz likely added to the drama he speaks so negatively about when he then decided to open the can of worms that is the idea of him playing with the rival Yankees.

“That’s something I gotta think about,” Ortiz said in reference to potentially playing with the Yankees. “I’ve been here on the Red Sox a long time, and I’ve seen how everything goes down between these two ball clubs.”

The ESPN.com article made mention that Ortiz didn’t say that he wanted to play for the Bombers, but he did add that he hears nothing but good things from those associated with the Yanks.

“It’s great from what I hear,” Ortiz told Dominguez. “It’s a good situation to be involved in. Who doesn’t want to be involved in a great situation where everything goes the right way?”

Ortiz added that he just wants to be a part of a winner. That, and he’s not going to change wherever he ends up.

“Trust me, I play the game for the fans, my family and myself,” he said.

Ortiz is a free agent this offseason after another stellar season in which he hit .309 with 29 home runs and 96 RBIs.
