It's not just the suits that are drawing attention to Don Cherry these days. The colorful hockey commentator and former Bruins head coach may face legal action from former NHL players Stu Grimson, Chris Nilan and Jim Thomson after calling out the trio of ex-enforcers.

Cherry ranted during a "Coach's Corner" segment on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, labeling the trio of former players as "pukes," "hypocrites" and "turncoats" for speaking out against fighting.

"You guys were fighters, and now you don't want guys to make the same living that you did," Cherry declared, while pointing an accusatory finger at the camera.

Grimson, who is now a lawyer in Tennessee, issued a statement from his law firm calling Cherry's comments "damaging and inflammatory." He also admitted to "considering all alternatives including legal recourse" in an interview with the Canadian Press, according to TSN.

Cherry later went on the air to backtrack on some of his comments, but Grimson and Co. have not relented.

"We wouldn't turn down an apology," Grimson is quoted as saying. "But I don't know that that ends it then and there."
