Midway through the second quarter of Sunday's Eagles-49ers game, Eagles running back Ronnie Brown fumbled the ball as he was being tackled. It happens. Except in this case, the ball wasn't poked out. Brown was trying to throw the ball as he was being wrapped up.

The Eagles were driving deep into 49er territory when Brown fumbled the ball and the 49ers recovered.

When looking at the replay, the play looks like it might have been by design. The Eagles offensive line pass blocks while fullback Owen Schmitt doesn't even appear to try to block one of the 49ers defenders. Additionally, Brown appears to be looking for Schmitt as he's going down.

Could this be a case of Eagles head coach Andy Reid calling a trick play? Or was Brown just trying to do too much? Judge for yourself by viewing the video below.
