Four Downs: Danny Woodhead Loves Will Ferrell Movies, Grilling With Family FOXBORO, Mass. — Running back Danny Woodhead signed with the Patriots one day before their Week 2 meeting with the Jets in 2010. Because Woodhead wasn't active for the game, the widespread reaction over the signing leaned toward the notion that the Patriots were sticking it to the Jets by corralling one of their most popular players right after he had been cut.

Obviously, that was incredibly shortsighted, and Woodhead has since emerged as a highly valued asset to the Patriots' offense. In 18 regular-season games with New England, Woodhead has 662 rushing yards, 5.4 yards per carry, 40 receptions, 420 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

Woodhead also took part in NESN.com's Four Downs series.

First Down
NESN: What goes into your pregame routine?

Woodhead: I don't know if there's a bunch of stuff that I really need to use in my routine. I just try to get ready every week and depending on the week, I don't have an actual routine. I'm not too superstitious in that aspect.

Second Down
NESN: What's on your iPod?

Woodhead: Pretty much everything, I've got Christian, country, rock. I've got everything in there.

NESN: Do you narrow down your play list for game days?

Woodhead: On game days, a little bit more praise and worship the day of the game.

Third Down
NESN: What's the best movie you've seen recently, or your favorite one of all time?

Woodhead: I really haven't watched a lot of movies lately, so I wouldn't have a clue what's going on in the movie world. I've always been a big fan of any of the Will Ferrell movies, though.

NESN: Do you have a favorite Will Ferrell movie?

Woodhead: Not really. All of them are good. I couldn't pick one of his. He has so many funny ones.

Fourth Down
NESN: If you could have any meal right now, home-cooked or at a restaurant 3,000 miles away, what would it be?

Woodhead: I think just grilling out with your family is always the best meal, whether it be burgers or whatever it may be, just grilling out with your family.

Four Downs will be a season-long series aimed toward giving Patriots fans a closer look at some of the players away from the field.
