His attitude toward adjusting to French life and culture is admirable. The veteran is making an honest effort at learning French, even though he is only on a season-long loan. He is appearing regularly for the Lille in both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League. He has played nine games in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
After 10 games, the defending champions are in fourth place in the league. Halfway through the group stage in Europe, they are at the foot of their group, but still can qualify for the knockout rounds.
