"Having worked with Ray and the team as a part of ESPN's FA Cup presentation team last season, I am excited by what we can do to bring something distinctive to football fans."
The Jamaican-born Barnes played for the Reds from 1987-97. He was an integral part of the great Liverpool teams of the late 1980s, terrorizing opposing defenders from the left wing.
He played 407 times for the club and scored 108 goals. He won two League championships and two FA Cups with the Reds.
He was also an England regular during the 1980s and 1990s, appearing 79 times and scoring 11 goals.
