Liverpool to Play Rangers in October 18 Friendly at Ibrox On Oct. 18, Liverpool will travel to Scotland to face Rangers in Glasgow, the club reports. The friendly will take place at Rangers' Ibrox Stadium and kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Liverpool last played Rangers in a pre-season game in August 2008, when the Reds won 4-0 in Glasgow.

The two clubs share historical and modern-day links. Midfielder Charlie Adam and reserve defender Danny Wilson both played for the club in recent years. Adam was under contract with the Scottish giants from the summer of 2003 before moving to Blackpool six years later. The Reds purchased Wilson from Rangers in the summer of 2010.

Former Liverpool player and manager Graeme Souness ended his playing career and began his coaching career at the Scottish club before moving to the Anfield hotseat in 1991.
