Apparently not everyone hates Sean Avery.
Rangers fans, upset that the club sent the forward down to the Connecticut Whale this preseason, chanted “we want Avery!” during the team’s 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs on Thursday night. The home opener also featured a banner that read “16 Avery, Send Torts to the Whale” — a reference to head coach John Tortorella. The banner, which can be seen below the video, was quickly removed.
