Socialite Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from husband Kris Humphries on Monday, according to TMZ. The 31-year-old Kardashian married the 26-year-old Nets forward on Aug. 20 in a ceremony that reportedly cost between $10 to 20 million.
According to TMZ, Kimmy K. has hired Laura Wasser to handle the divorce, the same attorney who represented celebrities such as Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie and Ryan Reynolds. Kardashian will not seek an annulment even though the marriage lasted less than three months. She cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation.
Don't expect Humphries to reap much of Kim's assets (and by that we mean money) from the split. The pair agreed to a prenuptial agreement back in June.
Rumors of a divorce have been circling for weeks now, as both Kris and Kim were not spotted together in some time. Last week, an Internet report said that Kardashian originally wanted to date then-Knicks player Danilo Gallinari prior to meeting Humphries.
